Rode it in Sept 2011, the ride from Podkoren to Tarvisio has nothing special,to make it worth your while just continue to Bovec.

The route viamichelin gives you doesn't include the 1 in 5 climbs over the Wurzen Pass! From the start take the S54 towards Kranjska Gora and into Slovenia. At Podkoren take the left turn towards Villach and up the steep climbs over the Wurzen Pass. The downhill is also very steep on the Austrian side. Then it's all a bit bland into Villach.
