Starting from Ballarat, the road down to Meredith is pretty hazardous, wire road divides the two way road, so historically the drivers along this route tail gate, and had a history of passing dangerously.. hence the wire rope dividers. police thankfully patrol this road, there are heaps of accidents and stupid drivers... be cautious! Once you get to Meredith and turn off all the hassles melt away, a nice road, good bush settings, moderate traffic, and the usual number of ot holes that will blow a fork seal easily! Getting to Maude, hang a left and get some nice straight country roads, then back onto a busy road into Anakie. Along this road are a fair few poor drivers and slow ones. Past Anakie gets you into a nice bush ride, decent road, but a few slow caravans. There are ample places to pass, and its 100km. After the resevoir turn left for a nice quite country road back to Meredith. A decent ride, nice corners, a few pot holes, and not many drivers.
